This correspondence verifies your qualification into the 98th GAM Championship at Muskegon Country Club on August 12-13, 2019. There will be 84 players who will compete over 36 holes on that day with the field being cut to the low 30 and ties for the final 18 holes on Tuesday, August 13.  


Note: Should there be a need to adjust second round tee times, players will be notified when they return their first round scorecards.  Be sure to confirm your afternoon starting time before leaving the scoring area.

TOURNAMENT DATE: Monday, August 12th – Tuesday, August 13th 

TEE TIME: You should arrive at your assigned tee at least ten (10) minutes prior to your scheduled starting time for instructions from the starter.

PRACTICE RANGE: Complimentary for players on the day of the competition, prior to play only.  The driving range will open one hour before the first tee time.

CHAMPIONSHIP YARDAGE: Available @, under Tournaments / GAM Championships / Men’s Championships / GAM Championship – Course Setup. All yardage is projected and subject to change.

DIRECTIONS: Take I-96 to US-31 N to the Laketon Road exit. Turn left after the exit. Turn left onto Cottage Grove Drive from Lakeshore Drive.

CADDIES/CARTS:  All players are required to walk. Contestants may carry their own bag or bring their own caddie. PUSH CARTS MAY BE USED IF THE HOST COURSE ALLOWS THEM. Spectator carts are only permitted if a request, accompanied by a doctor’s note confirming the spectator’s need for a cart, is submitted to the GAM at least two days prior to the competition. LODGING:  A group block has been reserved at the Shoreline Inn Muskegon (231) 727-8483. The rate is $139/night and the group name is "GAM". The cut-off date is one month prior to the tournament

PRACTICE ROUND:  Practice rounds are available, but you must call the pro shop in advance and identify yourself as a GAM Championship Contestant, (231) 755-1841.

GPS AND RANGE FINDERS: In this competition, if a player uses a distance-measuring device that is designed to gauge or measure other conditions that might affect his/her play, AND USES IT FOR THOSE OTHER CONDITIONS the player is in breach of Rule 4.3, for which the penalty is TWO STROKES for the first breach of this rule and DISQUALIFICATION for a subsequent breach during the stipulated round.

FOOD:  A complimentary lunch will be available on the first day of the competition.  Food will be available for purchase on the other day of the competition.

PLAYOFF: A tie for the Championship only will be determined by a sudden death playoff.  Ties for runner-up will be broken by scorecard playoff.

WITHDRAWAL:  If you have to withdraw, please notify the GAM by e-mailing If you must withdraw within 24 hours of the competition, please contact the GAM office at (248) 478-9242 ext. 124. Failure to notify may result in suspension from future GAM competitions. Refunds will be issued if the GAM office is notified prior to the close of entries for that competition. After the entry deadline, fees will be refunded only in the event of injury or illness (with a verified doctor's note). There is a $20 processing fee applied to all refunds.
