2009 Fuller Cup

The 2009 Fuller Cup took place Monday, May 4th, at Oakland Hills Country Club ? North Course.? Twenty-four of the state?s best players participated, comprised of twelve Michigan PGA members and twelve amateurs from the Golf Association of Michigan. The Michigan PGA jumped out to an early lead taking the first three matches and winning 4 of the possible 6 matches in the morning four ball. The single matches proved to be a different story as the G.A.M. took the first 4 matches and 8 of the 12 in the afternoon. The cup came down to the last match of the day with Dan Ellis of the G.A.M. defeating Bob Ackerman of the Michigan PGA 1 up, giving the G.A.M. the 9 ? to 8 ? victory. Playing for the GAM team was Eric Spencer, Brian Hayward, Greg Reynolds, Gene Gizzarelli, Tom Werkmeister, Mark Schoenborn, Bill Zylstra, Casey Baker, Greg Davies, Ian Harris, Dan Ellis and Russ Cunningham.
