COURSE OF THE WEEK: Springfield Oaks Shines in Oakland County

Springfield
Oaks Golf Course is a scenic 18-hole course located in Davisburg.

It opened in
1973 and is one of five Oakland County Parks Courses.

The course
plays to a par-71, with the front nine being very open and hilly. The back nine
plays tighter, with more trees and water. Springfield Oaks is certified by the
Michigan Turfgrass Environmental Stewardship Program for exceeding requirements
to protect natural resources.

Springfield
Oaks offers terrific views and challenging play for golfers at every skill
level. Well-groomed fairways and greens keep Springfield Oaks difficult yet
friendly, and the staff can offer tips and tricks for playing your best round.

Springfield
Oaks hosts a 4-person team scramble on the last Tuesday of each month through
September for men and women ages 50 and above. It is a shotgun start that is
$132 per team if you pre-pay, or $168 per team if you pay at the event.
Included in the fee is 18-hole green fees, cart rental, continental breakfast,
lunch immediately after the round, contest holes and prizes. For more

Springfield
Oaks also has a clubhouse with pro shop for any of your round needs, and grill
room for pre-game or after-golf fare. Elegant banquet facilities are available
for weddings, outings and special occasions.
