Detroit News / Golf Association of Michigan

 Hole in one contest

Tuesday September 7, 2010

Whispering Willows Golf Course, Livonia, Michigan

Each contestant will get 2 shots in an attempt to make a hole in one.  Players will be flighted by age and gender.

The grand prize is a golf package at an Osprey Recreational Resort Property.

If multiple holes in one are made on September 7, 2010 at hole # 7 at Whispering Willows Golf Course, all contestants having made a hole in one will have their names put in a hat and one lucky winner will be drawn.  If no aces are made, the golfer with the closest shot to the cup wins.  In addition to the grand prize, there will be prizes awarded in each division for shots closest to the cup.

The committee will assign times for contestants to participate.  Contest hours will be 7:30 a.m. and run until all contestants have hit.

Divisions for 2010 are as follows:

Boys and Girls Junior Division        15 years and younger

Men’s and Ladies Division               16 years to 55 years

Sr. Men’s and Ladies Division          56 years and over

                        PGA Golf Professional Division

In 2010 we will conduct a fundraiser for the Folds of Honor Foundation in conjunction with the Hole in One contest.  For every $ 10.00 donation, your name will be entered into the “Par Level” prize drawing and for every $20.00 donation your name will be entered into the “Birdie Level” prize drawing.  Prizes range from rounds of golf to gift cards and more.  You do not have to participate in the Hole in One contest to participate in the drawing.

We look forward to seeing you on Tuesday September 7, 2010.

I’d like to personally invite you to consider participating in the event, or if you are unable to attend on that day, to pass along the information to a friend or colleague who may be interested. It promises to be a memorable day and one that will mean so much to the families who will benefit from the cause, some of whom will be on hand on September 7, 2010. .
In closing and on behalf of the Folds of Honor Board of Directors, staff, and the many volunteers, thank you again for being a Patriot.
