Dillon and Schultheiss Win 4-Ball on 6th Playoff Hole

HIGHLAND – It took George Dillon (Midland) and Roy Schultheiss (Bay City) six playoff holes to secure their win in the 4th GAM Senior Four-Ball on Tuesday at Prestwick Village Golf Club.
The duo outlasted John French (Bloomfield Hills) and John Lindholm (Grand Blanc) to snare the victory.

“We were not in command at any point during the playoff,” said Dillon. “We both birdied the first hole and then the next four holes were all pars but their team had chances to sink a putt to win and narrowly missed those putts. It definitely took a little luck for us to get the win today.”

That luck came in the form of a 40-foot birdie putt. Dillon — much to his surprise – made the putt and French missed a 20-foot putt on the sixth playoff hole.

“I really did not expect my putt to go in,” admitted Dillon.

Dillon and Schultheiss got lucky on the 18th hole too when Schultheiss sunk a putt to send the final round of the Senior Four-Ball into a playoff.

“The 18th hole is the toughest hole on the course,” said Dillon. “We had luck on our side today.”

Both teams had a two-round total of 136.
