5th GAM Jr. Two-Person Team Championship

ROCHESTER?The 5th GAM Junior Two-Person Team Championship, sponsored by Osprey Recreational Properties, was held today, July 24, at Great Oaks Country Club in Rochester. The team of Casey Olsen (Okemos) and Nathan Stump (Williamston) was crowned Champion of the Boys Division, the team of Joan Dulieu (Bloomfield Hills) and Maria Di Marco (Troy) won for the Girls Division, and the team of Casey Johnson (Wixom) and Sarah Johnson (Wixom) was named Champion of the Mixed Division.

Each two-person team competed in 9 holes of Four-Ball Stroke Play as well as 9 holes of Scramble Format Play. In Four-Ball Stroke Play, the two members of each team play as partners, each playing his or her own ball. The lower gross score of the partners is the score for each hole.

In Scramble Format, each team member drives on each hole and the best drive is selected by the team. Each team member then plays a second shot from the spot where the selected drive lay and the best second shot is selected. This process is repeated until the hole is completed.

The Olsen-Stump team finished today?s competition off with a low score of 65 for the Boys Division Champion title. Following close behind them for the 2nd Place position was the team of Ross Gerulis (Canton) and Ben VanBiesbrouck (Washington), posting a 66.

Meanwhile, the Dulieu-Di Marco team posted a 70 for the Girls Division Champion title. Meagan Bauer (Grand Blanc) and Shana Bauer (Grand Blanc) came in 2nd for the Girls Division with a 71.

The Johnson-Johnson team posted a 68 to gain the Mixed Division title. Following behind them for the 2nd Place spot was the team of Allison Sears (Clio) and Nicholas Sears (Clio) with a 71.
