Medalist Golf Club Near Marshall Re-Opens Following Severe Storms

Marshall, MI – The Medalist Golf Club near Marshall, which was severely hit by storms earlier in the week and lost nearly 1,000 trees, announces it will re-open for play today Thursday June 2. Nine holes will open today followed by all 18-holes tomorrow Friday June 3.

There will also be a reduced rate of 2 for 1 green fees for any golfers coming out to play this weekend. There is still debris and trees getting cleaned up, but the fairways and the greens are clear and ready to be played by golfers.

The Medalist was forced to shut down this week due to severe storms that blasted through the region last Sunday knocking down trees and causing many businesses including the golf course to lose power. The course had great community support from the members and staff who together logged in over 500 hours of work on Memorial Day and Tuesday. Their efforts as well as the efforts of five different tree removal companies made it possible to get the golf course cleaned up and ready for play this weekend.
