Total Golf Adventures is bringing the golf course to school and YMCA gymnasiums throughout Macomb County and the Grosse Pointes, introducing the game to preschoolers, kindergarteners and elementary school students.
Total Golf Adventures (TGA) is the leading provider of at-school,
after-school golf enrichment programs in the country. TGA has put more
than 38,000 students through its programs, and there are 43 TGA programs in
22 states.
TGA curriculums were specially designed for young students by industry-leading golf professionals and education specialists to ensure that lesson plans are age-appropriate and easy to understand and retain.
Certified instructors teach swing fundamentals, rules, etiquette, course management, competitive formats and life values as students advance through the five-level program.
The Macomb and Grosse Pointes territory was started in July by Dave Robinson, former sports editor and deputy managing editor of the Detroit
Free Press. “I’ve always loved working with kids – from 10 years coaching
my son and daughter’s Liittle League teams, to working with young journalists at the Free Press,” Robinson said. “I’m really looking forward to seeing the smiles as TGA students learn to play golf.”
Programs are underway at 11 sites, with many more scheduled for later in the fall and winter. For more information or to register for classes, go to www.totalgolfadventures.com.
