Michigan Golf Hall of Famer Meg Mallon Appointed Solheim Captain

(Dexter, Mich.) Meg Mallon, one of America’s top players on eight Solheim Cup teams, will lead the LPGA in its attempt to regain possession of the trophy at the Colorado Golf Club in 2013.

Mallon, elected to the Michigan Golf Hall of Fame in 2002, captained American teenagers to victory in the Junior Solheim Cup in Ireland in 2011. She also was assistant captain to Beth Daniel in America’s triumph over the European professionals in 2009.

Mallon posted a 13-9-7 won-lost-tied record in her eight appearances on the team and was 5-2-1 in singles. Only Juli Inkster has won more points for American women. A link to Mallon’s member page may be found at:
