CHEASANING – Twin Brooks Golf Club celebrates its 50th Anniversary on the weekend of July 30 with many special events planned. The festivities begin with an opening ceremony at 4:30 p.m. July 30 followed by a 9-hole tournament played on the original 9 holes that was Twin Brooks when the golf course opened in 1960. The shotgun start for that tournament is at 5:30 p.m.
Following the 9-hole tournament will be a presentation on the history of Twin Brooks; hors d’oeuveres will be served.
Saturday, July 31 begins with a 9-hole alternate shot tournament at 8 a.m. followed by a four-person 50th Anniversary 18-Hole Scramble at 2 p.m. The 50th Anniversary Scramble is followed by a Hawaiian Luau and pig roast including a live band and beer tent. There will be several fun contests planned throughout the evening including a putting tournament and chip off.
A pancake breakfast kicks off the final day of the 50th Anniversary celebration on Aug. 1 from 10 a.m. – noon. The breakfast is followed by a Par 3 Scramble at 12:30 p.m.
