Good time had by all at the 4th Annual Junior-Adult Scramble supporting the MWGA Girls Golf Program

Dearborn Heights, MI. August 21, 2013. The smiles on the kids’ faces tell the whole story. Fourteen teams with two juniors and two adults played a 9-hole scramble on a beautiful golf day at Warren Valley GC in Dearborn Heights. First Lady of Detroit, Yvette Bing, the guest of honor for third year, was a roving ambassador, which gave her the opportunity to meet all of the children, who then were able to have a team photo taken with Mrs. Bing.
The field was divided into two flights, A and B. Men played from the white tees, women from the red and the children from the 150-yard markers. Winning teams consisted of:

After golf a nice buffet was enjoyed by all while medals were awarded to the winners. The children who played in the scramble were part of the some 55 juniors who took part in the 2013 Michigan Women’s Golf Association Girls (and Boys) Golf Program. Beginners received instruction from LPGA teaching pro, Debbie Williams-Hoak, at Rouge Park Golf Course on the west side of Detroit on Tuesday afternoons. The more advanced juniors played scrambles on Friday afternoons at Chandler Park Golf Course on the east side of Detroit and also received on-course instruction from PGA pro, Craig Piscopink.
