The Michigan Open Championship presented by DTE will be played Monday through Thursday (June 10-13) at The Orchards in Washington, Mich., (62900 Campground Rd.) and the Michigan PGA welcomes any and all coverage by local and state media outlets.

He can be found in tournament week in the media room of the golf club. Johnson is the media coordinator for a second consecutive year, and previously covered 28 Michigan Open championship while working for The Grand Rapids Press.

Barrett Kelpin of Kalamazoo is the defending champion. Last year’s win in the Michigan Open was his first professional event, and he also won a NGA Tour winter series event over the winter.
The state’s top pros and amateurs are lined up for the event, including six-time Michigan Open and Michigan PGA champion Scott Hebert of Grand Traverse Resort and Spa. Last year’s Michigan Amateur champion, Drew Preston of Grand Rapids, has turned professional, and is also in the field. More news on players in the field will be published leading up to the tournament’s first round.
