BRAD BASTION

“I’ve been putting well. I made a couple of crazy putts on 16 today, which pretty much made the difference in both those matches. Ball striking has been fairly solid, but putter has been warm. If I can keep that up, I should be in good shape.

“I played in the U.S. Open sectional down in Florida early this month and played really well. I knew if I could play well in a field like that, then that is a lot of confidence coming in to an event like this.”

“I expected to get to sweet 16, everything from there on is a bonus.”

TOM GIESELMAN

“It was really windy out there, it was tough. So the key to my game this week is that I’ve been hitting it pretty straight out there and keeping the ball in play. I can count on one hand the bad shots I’ve hit out of play.

“Every round I’ve missed two or three four footers. I made a couple of birdies at the end , which were key.”

“I’m a little tired. Seven rounds in four days where I think I played 12 times maybe this year. I  love match play. You can be aggressive at times and now worry about your total score.

MIKE IGNASIAK

“I’m keeping it in play, and I’m hitting it long. That’s good on this course. My putting around the green is getting better every day.

“Eagle on No. 6 got it going, and a great up and down on No 8 to keep round going. I just hit the ball close enough all day that I put the pressure on Russ and Greg. Those guys can flat out play. Both guys are great competitors, great players, and I got the better of them today, that’s all

“I’m playing solid right now. Nothing crazy. Flat stick got hot and things are going well.

“I know I’m good enough to win. I just have to manage my game and get my putter going. Everybody here is the same way. Everybody in the sweet 16 was good enough to win it.

   ANDREW CHAPMAN

“What day is it? I don’t even know. I’m exhausted. Delay didn’t bother me. It was kind of nice.  I just put my feet up and sat around for a couple of hours.”

“Wind was howling when we got started. It made for some interesting holes with the great set up by the committee. It was fun.

“I’m thrilled. I guess I’m not surprised and I don’t mean that in a bad way. I got some breaks, and had some putts go in.”

“At this point anybody has as good a shot as anybody else. So for me it’s taking my time, focusing on the shot and hand and taking care of that business. I got a little ahead of myself on the back nine and next thing you know go five up to three up.
