The University of Michigan Men’s Golf Team won the Big Ten Match Play Championship, defeating Purdue in a playoff in the final at The Concession Golf Club in Bradenton, Fla.
“It’s definitely a confidence booster and a great first step for our spring season,” said Michigan head coach Chris Whitten. “It’s good for the guys to get rewarded for all of the hard work they put in over the winter.”
Freshman Reed Hrynewich (Muskegon) played in three matches during the Championship, going 1-1-1, including a halve against Purdue’s Sam Fu in the final.
