Traverse City Golf Center’s Upgrades Provide Benefit
For All Golfers in Northern Michigan
April 20, 2014
Traverse City
An expansion of the PGA staff, the purchase of two ES14 Launch Monitors and the development of new instructional programs at Traverse City Golf Center (TCGC) are the latest efforts to improve services for golfers of all ages by Owner Doug Lichty.
TCGC is excited to introduce PGA staff member David Layman as director of instruction and golf shop manager. He is a 15-year golf professional with expertise in teaching, club fitting, club repair, golf shop merchandising and technology. His experience includes eight years as head golf professional at Black Diamond Ranch in Lecanto, Fla., and Kent Country Club in Grand Rapids, and seven years as the assistant golf professional at Crystal Downs in Frankfort. David and his wife, Vicki, are excited to be back in Traverse City where both their children were born.
The new ES14 Launch Monitors will allow Traverse City Golf Center to continue its full-service club fitting. The ES14 by Ernest Sports is the latest ball-motion technology on the market and was the hit of the recent 2014 PGA Merchandise Show in Orlando, Fla. It provides detailed information during fittings by measuring variables such as ball speed, club speed, launch angle, spin rate and distance.
The Instruction Program at TCGC has a new and full schedule. With Ladies’ Sweets and Swings, Couples Date Night on the Range, Get Golf Ready for new golfers and Future Bombers for juniors, there is a program for any level of player.
More than ever, TCGC continues to be northern Michigan’s premier public golf shop. New and exciting instructional programs and updated technology allow TCGC to provide cutting-edge service. Golfers of all ages will reap the benefits on their journey to successful and enjoyable golf.
