Last Chance to Register for the Wee One Foundation Fundraiser- Orchard Lake CC

ORCHARD LAKE — Registration is underway for the 2014 Wee One Foundation fundraiser to benefit ailing golf course maintenance workers.

This 501C3 Non–Profit Foundation raises money for golf course maintenance workers experiencing financial difficulty due to health issues. This year’s event will be held on Monday, Sept. 22 at Orchard Lake Country Club, a 1926 Colt-Alison designed golf course located in Orchard Lake Village.

Attendees will get a first-hand look at the restoration of this classic golf course that was completed in 2013 by noted architect Keith Foster, including re-grassing of all greens with Pure Distinction bentgrass.

Cost for the event, which includes lunch, dinner, drinks, and various golf contests, is $250 per person and is fully tax deductible.  Golfers must register via the Wee One website ( and credit card payment is required at the time of registration for all players who are being registered.  The event is limited to 120 golfers.

Golfers will play their own ball and there will be a best-ball event for team prizes.  Check-in and use of the driving range starts at 10:30 a.m. followed by a shotgun start at Noon and dinner immediately after golf.  Locker room facilities will be available and proper golf attire and decorum is strictly enforced.

This will be a great opportunity for General Managers, Superintendents, Green Committees, decision makers and leaders to see new Pure Distinction bentgrass greens and the added value low maintenance bentgrass can bring to golf facilities.
