In
early September the Detroit Free Press began expanded golf coverage in
Michigan. It tapped sports writing veteran Tom Lang (more than 25 years
combined at the Free Press and Lansing State Journal) to supply stories several
times per month at www.freep.com/sports/golf.
Lang will write feature stories about golfers, course reviews, travel
pieces, equipment reviews and other golf topics. He has covered dozens of
Michigan Amateur Championships and GAM Championships (men’s and women’s) and
the 2009 and ’12 Masters at Augusta.
For
8 years Lang served as media manager of the Ford Senior Players Championship
and also worked behind the scenes serving pro players all week at the 2004
Ryder Cup at Oakland Hills. GAM is very pleased to see the Detroit Free
