Global Golf Post & Callaway Golf Announce New National Tournaments for Club Champions

Callaway Golf & Global Golf Post Debut

National Club Champions Tournaments

WINTER PARK, FLA. (May 12, 2015) – Callaway Golf and Global Golf Post announce the debut of two national tournaments for male club champions.

“At most golf clubs around the world, be they private or public, the club champion gets bragging rights, a trophy, and that’s it. There is no next level to play in — until now,” said Global Golf Post founder and publisher Jim Nugent.

Two tournaments will be played in 2015 — the Callaway Golf Eastern Tournament of Club Champions at Mid Pines Inn & Golf Club and Pine Needles Lodge & Golf Club in Pinehurst, N.C., October 8-11, and the Callaway Golf Western Tournament of Club Champions, to be played at The Wigwam Resort, November 12-15.

To be eligible for the Champions Division, men must be 30 and older and have won a gross club championship (stroke or match play) in 2013, 2014, or 2015. A Senior Division is available for players 55 and older who won a senior club championship. Each tournament will be played over 54 holes at scratch.

“We’re proud to partner with Global Golf Post on these events,” said David Neville, Sr. Director of Marketing for Callaway Golf. “It fits perfectly with the Callaway brand ethos to be aspirational yet accessible.  We look forward to making the Tournament of Club Champions a special experience for all involved.”

A world-class experience awaits competitors, as each event takes place at premier championship golf courses.

“We look forward to providing club champions with an exciting new competitive opportunity on great golf courses” said Nugent. “And we look forward to expanding the number of club champions events in 2016”.
