WINTER PARK, FLA. (December 7, 2015)— Global Golf Post, the world’s leading digital golf news magazine, today announced its 2015 American male and female amateurs of the year, as well as its third global All-Amateur teams for men and women.
Reigning U.S. Amateur and NCAA individual champion Bryson DeChambeau was selected as the male Amateur of the Year, while University of Alabama senior Emma Talley was named the female Amateur of the Year.
“Emma Talley and Bryson DeChambeau’s on-course accomplishments are towering,” wrote Steve Eubanks in The Post’s Dec. 7 edition. “Talley is one of only five players in history to win the U.S. Women’s Amateur and the NCAA individual championship, while DeChambeau joined Jack Nicklaus, Phil Mickelson, Tiger Woods and Ryan Moore in winning both the national amateur and the NCAA in the same year. But the examples Talley and DeChambeau have set away from competition, their humility and genuineness, are even more extraordinary.”
In addition, The Post unveiled its third global All-Amateur selections for men and women amateurs, mid-amateurs, and senior amateurs. A total of 199 players from 29 countries were recognized for on-course excellence in 2015.
“Amateur golf is a part of the DNA of The Post,” said Founder and Publisher Jim Nugent. “We take great pride and similar joy in supporting the amateur game, globally.”
