After two days of beautiful weather and superb golf at Manistee National Golf and Resort, Susan Campbell was able to defend her title at the 12th GAM Women?s Senior, and keep the Sara Wold Trophy on her mantle for another year. Campbell?s two day total of 75-77=152 edged out Barb Schmid by one stroke to earn her back to back titles at this event after last season?s win at Grand Traverse Resort and Spa. A three way tie between Campbell, Schmid, and Claudia Cenko was held over night but was broken before the day ended on Tuesday. Following her victory Campbell mentioned it wasn?t just the golf that made the event so enjoyable but the camaraderie shared between fellow competitors over the two days. Campbell will try to make it a three-peat when the 13th GAM Women?s Senior is held at Little Traverse Bay Golf Club in 2009.
