New 15 and Under Honor Rolls Announced

FARMINGTON HILLS, Mich., – The Golf Association of Michigan (GAM) announced two new Honor Roll Standings for junior golfers ages 15 & Under starting in the 2017 Championship Season. The Boys 15 & Under and Girls 15 & Under Honor Roll Standings will give young and developing junior golfers the opportunity to take part in an integral part of the GAM Championship program.

The GAM Honor Roll Standings were created with three key initiatives:

  1. Reward GAM members who competed in multiple GAM affiliated Championships, and performed well in those events.
  2.  Determine the Player of Year in the respective Honor Roll categories.
  3.  Create a merit-based system for earning exemptions into GAM Championships and invitations into GAM/USGA Team Championships.

Boys and Girls under the age of 15 years old will have the chance to put their names down in history as the first players to receive recognition for performance in GAM affiliated Championships limited to players who are ages 15 years old and younger. Through these Honor Roll Standings, juniors will be able to earn an exemption into the prestigious 5th GAM Junior Invitational at Forest Akers West on September 16-17, 2017. This event annually features the top junior golfers in the state of Michigan competing for the Joseph “Mick” Kildea Trophy.

The headline events included in the 15 & Under Honor Rolls are the following:
