Gaylord Golf Mecca Offers
FREE Golf Weekend April 24-26
Mecca provides perfect golf trip opportunity in tough economy
Gaylord, MI – The Gaylord Golf Mecca, known as America’s Summer Golf Mecca, will open the 2009 golf season with its fourth annual FREE golf weekend on April 24-26. The FREE golf weekend will give golfers an opportunity to come up and experience one of the countries premier golf destinations during these tough economic times.
“We have been doing this free golf weekend for four years now and it has been very popular for golfers looking to get out early and get a head start on the golf season,” explained Paul Beachnau, Executive Director for the Gaylord Area Convention and Tourism Bureau.
“We believe that this year, the weekend will have even more meaning with the current state of the economy. We hope struggling golf consumers who otherwise might not take a golf trip will look at this as a great opportunity to still take a quality golf vacation,” continued Beachnau.
Visitors who book an overnight stay at one of the participating hotels will be able to play a FREE round of golf on one of the participating Gaylord Golf Mecca courses. This is a celebration of spring and a “thank you” to the many golfers from around the Midwest who have frequented the scenic destination over the past twenty years.
Golfers simply call one of the hotels to book your room and mention you would like to participate in the FREE Golf Weekend. Each hotel guest will then receive a golf certificate upon check in. The certificate is then presented to the golf course in order to get the FREE round of golf. For a complete list of participating hotels, golf courses and rates please log onto www.freegolfgaylord.com.
The Gaylord Golf Mecca offers something for everyone including opulent resort destinations such as the nationally acclaimed Treetops Resort, Otsego Club, and Garland Resort. Complimenting the resorts are high-quality public courses such as Black Forest, Black Lake, Michaywe, Mountain Lake, The Loon, Marsh Ridge, The Natural, Black Bear, Elk Ridge, and Gaylord Country Club, as well as fine and casual dining, and quaint inns. It’s an experience golfers of all skills and tastes can enjoy.
