GAM GOLF DAY SERIES CHAMPIONSHIP: The Cardinal at St. John’s Resort Hosting on Monday

PLYMOUTH – The GAM members who have taken advantage of the Golf Days and found success this summer will meet for one final round in the GAM Golf Day Series Championship Monday at Saint John’s Resort.

The 15th season of GAM Golf Days will conclude on the popular new Raymond Hearn-designed course, The Cardinal, with final champions being crowned in net and gross scoring among men, women and senior men.

The golfers became eligible for the final championship day by having won at a previous Golf Day this season. Among the prizes is a free Golf Day of their choice next season and gift certificates.

The Cardinal, which plays to a maximum of 7,002 yards and rolls across 200 acres of undulating terrain, is the first championship course to open to the public in Metro Detroit in over two decades and is the centerpiece of a golf transformation at the elite Saint John’s Resort. It incorporates Golden Age green contours and classic bunkering while preserving century-old trees.

Hearn also designed a seven-hole par 3 course and a two-acre course for the resort. The Little Cardinal is on 7.5 acres of parkland with seven holes ranging from 44 to 112 yards. The Cardinal Putting Course is modeled after the fabled Himalayas Putting Course at St. Andrews in Scotland with a series of humps and swales.

The courses serve as part of the resort’s Humanitarian Hotels initiative in which 100 percent of the profits support global humanitarian efforts, intertwining premier golfing with a commitment to community and sustainability.

Golf Days are a service for all GAM members that offers playing opportunities at top golf courses across the state, including private clubs, for cost-saving rates. Golf Days, all with 84 open slots, offer a casual yet competitive day of golf to all GAM members, men, and women, and provide opportunities no matter how they play the game.

Entry fees, between $60 and $100 per player, include 18 holes of golf, cart, range balls for warmup and prizes at the conclusion of the day. Each player receives their full course adjusted USGA/GAM Handicap. Players must have an active USGA/GAM Handicap to be eligible in the Net Division. To learn more about Golf Days visit GAM.org.
