Stacy Slobodnik-Stoll Gets Kids Swinging

Spartan Head Coach Leads Junior Golf Clinic at Crystal Mountain

 

THOMPSONVILLE, MICH – Stacy Slobodnik-Stoll, head coach of the Michigan State University Women’s Golf Team, will be leading a special golf clinic at Crystal Mountain on Saturday, June 22 (3pm) as part of Crystal Mountain’s Junior Golf Fun Day.

Slobodnik-Stoll has been at the helm of the Spartan golf team for 16 years, taking the Spartans to the NCAA Championships for the ninth time.  She has also led the team to the NCAA Regionals 15 straight seasons, and four Big Ten titles.

The free Golf Clinic is geared for kids 5 to12 years old and will kick-off an afternoon of games at Crystal Mountain’s Practice and Learning Center.  Kids are welcome to bring their own golf equipment or golf clubs can be provided.

After the clinic, the fun will continue with hitting balls into a kiddie pool, target nets and playing three holes on the practice range’s short course.  The Junior Golf Fun Day runs until 5pm.

“It’s so very important to get kids on the golf course early in life,” said Brad Dean, Crystal Mountain’s Director of Golf.  “And Stacy Slobodnik-Stoll is really passionate about the game and getting the next generation of great players off to a strong start.”

Stacy Slobodnik-Stoll will be at Crystal Mountain, along with several of her players from Michigan State University, to participate in the Michigan PGA Women’s Open which begins play on Crystal Mountain’s Mountain Ridge Course on Monday, June 24.
