GREENSBORO, N.C. – The Michigan State women’s golf team finished in 10th place at the Bryan National Collegiate after shooting a 307 in Sunday’s final round. The Spartans closed the three-day tournament with a 48-over-par 912 (302-303-307). The competitive 18-team event, which was held at the par 72, 6,386-yard Bryan Park Champions Course, featured 11 teams in the Golfstat Top 50.
Gabby Yurik led the way for the Spartans with a season-best eighth-place finish. The native of Rochester, Michigan, was 7-over-par with a 223 (74-74-75). It marked Yurik’s fourth top-10 placing of her career and the 54-hole total of 223 was a career low.
Alison Knowles tied for the second-best round of the day, along with Yurik, with a 3-over 75. Knowles finished tied in 43rd place (78-79-75–232).
Freshman Sarah Burnham carded a 77 in the third round and tied for 27th overall on the individual leaderboard at 13-over (74-78-77–229).
Katie Sharp tied for 38th (76-75-80–231) and Lindsey McPherson tied for 57th (80-76-80–236).
No. 12 Virginia won the tournament over No. 13 Wake Forest on the second playoff hole.
The Michigan State women’s golf team returns to action for the Lady Buckeye Invitational on April 18-19 at Ohio State.
