GOLF ASSOCIATION OF MICHIGAN

COURSE OF THE WEEK: Burning Tree Golf & Country Club

Burning Tree Golf and Country Club was established in 1958 and is one of the few private golf clubs in Macomb County. With an extensively upgraded and updated clubhouse in 2008, Burning Tree offers numerous member tournaments and social events and strives for continuing member pride and satisfaction.

The attentive, personable and friendly staff contributes to member’s positive golf experience. With numerous golf and social events planned throughout the year, it’s a great place to meet new friends, relax with the entire family, or entertain business clients and associates over a round of golf with an enjoyable meal and cocktails to follow.

The challenging course is set amid a profusion of trees with the Clinton River winding its way throughout. Designed by Lou Powers, Burning Tree features a traditional regulation 18-hole golf course with tree lined fairways and the Clinton River coming into play on 6 holes, including the 18th hole with its beautiful peninsula green.

To ensure the finest playing conditions, the course is meticulously maintained with smooth greens surrounded by white sand bunkers. A fleet of carts and fully paved cart paths service members’ needs. Walking the course is also enjoyed by many members and is a great form of exercise. This par 71 golf course presents a much greater challenge than its 6140 yards might indicate. Golfers quickly realize that all forms of shot-making and skill are required. The full list of tees is:
