SEASON FINALE ? Travis Pointe Golf Club Hosting GAM Tournament of Champions Monday

ANN ARBOR – Travis Pointe Country Club will host the last championship of the Golf Association of Michigan (GAM) season, the traditional Tournament of Champions, Monday.

A field of 63 golfers, each eligible for having won a GAM member club championship or a GAM title during the 2019 golf season, will play a final 18-hole stroke play tournament to determine male and female champions.

Travis Pointe, which from 2016 to 2018 hosted the LPGA Volvik Championship, was designed by Michigan golf architect Bill Newcomb, and opened in 1977. It features six sets of tees to fit golfers of all skill levels. The course can be played up to 7,326 yards.

The club has hosted several Golf Association of Michigan championships in recent years, including the Michigan Amateur Championship, as well as several Michigan PGA tournaments and USGA qualifiers. It hosted the Senior Tournament of Champions in 2018.

Guy Guarino is the manager, Rocky Mullendore the PGA professional and Dan Graft the superintendent at Travis Pointe. Learn more at travispointe.com.

Last year, Brad Bastion of Shelby Township and Kelly Hartigan of Milford won the men’s and women’s titles at Oakland University’s Katke-Cousins golf course. Bastion is in the field again this year.
